TED
TED is a nonprofit devoted to ideas worth spreading, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. It began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics - from science to business to global issues - in more than 100 languages.
TED is a global community, welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world.
TED is an annual event that brings together the world’s leading thinkers and doers to share ideas that matter in any discipline—technology, entertainment, design, science, humanities, business, development. At TED, the world’s leading thinkers and doers are asked to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Talks are then made available for free at www.ted.com
TEDx
TEDx was created in the spirit of TED's mission, to share "ideas worth spreading." The TEDx Program is designed to help communities, organizations and individuals spark deep discussions and connect through local TED-like experiences.
A TEDx event is a local gathering where live TED-like talks and videos previously recorded at TED conferences are shared with the community. TEDx events are planned and coordinated independently, under a license granted by TED.

All it takes is a slight shift in one individual's perspective to inspire a great idea; one that blossoms into action and goes on to create positive change in our community... That's why TEDxBentleyU believes in the incredible power of new ideas. We're a student-led initiative; a group of curious individuals, united by our collective desire to share “ideas worth spreading” and dedicated to bringing a memorable TEDx experience to our university's campus.
At our annual conferences, a line-up of unique speakers make the stage come alive with their thought-provoking and diverse "ideas worth spreading" through talks and performances (of less than 18 minutes) to an audience of Bentley University students, alumni, and faculty. Our goal is for every TEDxBentleyU talk to inspire ingenuity, imagination, and vibrant discussion throughout the Bentley University community and the global TEDx community online.
